Home Share Clare
Home Share Clare, a families and community initiative 'does exactly what it says on the tin!' ... bringing together people with an intellectual disability with families interested in sharing their homes, their lives and their friendships. This is a great opportunity to nurture friendships and gain experiences by introducing someone to your family, friends and your community.
Home Share families typically commit to providing five breaks in a year. Training, guidance and an allowance are offered to home share families by Home Share Clare. Each adult or child is carefully matched to caregivers, often leading to valued, life enhancing friendships through sharing time, interests, hobbies and experiences.
Home Sharers come from a wide range of backgrounds and life styles, married or single, young or old, working or retired. Personal qualities are what count; common sense, warmth, patience, flexibility and a sense of humour.
