The Brothers of Charity, through a partnership with Banner Housing Association, currently have a number of apartments in Newmarket-on-Fergus and support a number of individuals who have grown up in the local area. The service provides day and residential supports to adults who are over the age of 18 and who have an Intellectual Disability.

Nestled in the southern part of Co Clare, Newmarket-on-Fergus is a beautiful village with lots of famous landmarks including Cragganowen, Bunratty and Dromoland Castle close by. This peaceful village offers the perfect balance of country and town life with Limerick city and Ennis town close by.

The service is vibrant and active and individuals have opportunities to integrate within the community and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The Newmarket Residential Service has the capacity to support individuals with a variety of needs. Our aim is to provide individuals with a service that is person-centred and holistic.

Newmarket has a wide range of services including ‘Obair’ (a community development organisation), Café Fergus (which offers a chance to meet friends), local park amenities, pharmacy, bars and restaurants.  The library is also within walking distance of the apartment and offers individuals a space to take some time out. Shannon is only a 5-minute drive away and offers people easy access to gym & pool facilities, cinemas, local supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. Individuals using the services can access employment support in Shannon which people can access to explore job opportunities.
